Heart of Destruction is a story by AiE writer Briham. The first chapter was released on April 8th, 2012, and is ongoing. It is Briham's second story, and the only one he is currently working on.

Heart of Destruction was conceived as a response to the common trope of ponies quickly falling for Anon. Briham wanted to create a story where Anon was incapable of fitting in to Ponyville. As a result, the Anonymous of this story negates magic. This leads to numerous problems in the magic-saturated land of Equestria; it causes discomfort in earth ponies, prevents flight for pegasi, and creates excruciating headaches for unicorns. Because of the danger he poses to nearby ponies, he is forced to quarantine himself and must constantly take care not to hurt anyone.
The themes of this story focus on isolation and loneliness. Anonymous must be physically isolated due to his magic-nullifying nature, but is also emotionally isolated because of his past. Heart of Destruction also explores how interactions become limited when physical contact is prohibited.

Prologue, Part 1, Part 2[]
Posted April 8th, 2012. Anonymous, a fan of My Little Pony, desires to live in a better world. The next morning, he wakes up in the Everfree Forest. He is mystified about how he got there, and also about the strange circle surrounding him, in which everything seems more dull. He soon encounters Twilight Sparkle, but when he approaches her, she screams in pain. Anon realizes the aura surrounding him is what is hurting Twilight, and she teleports away, leaving him to find his way back.
In part 2, Anon exits the forest but is accosted and captured by Twilight and her friends. After they determine that his intentions are peaceful, he is moved to one of Applejack's barns.
